Showing primarily independent films - many with a local connection - JPMN is a community-focused organization whose mission is to bring people together through a love of film. Present site is the Centre for Faith, Art and Justice at First Baptist, 633 Centre St., JP. When Covid-19 is behind us all that will be the location again.
JPMN was founded by two neighbors - Shailah and Jason - who regretted that JP lacked a place for folks to gather to watch movies in the neighborhood. So, in late 2018, they started presenting films to the public, primarily movies that were made and owned by the filmmakers themselves.
JPMN screens films on the first Saturday of every month, Sept.-June, starting at 7pm and ending the screening by approx. 8:30. The audience is encouraged to stay for conversation after the movie. Filmmakers are usually present for Q&A and a lively dialogue, greatly enhancing the movie-watching experience.
